Pastor Tim’s August Message
As we approach the conclusion of summer, we have some exciting ministry moments approaching. We are soon to conclude our annual “Back to School” supply drive for students in need in our local community. In this endeavor, we have partnered with Families Together, Refugee Hope Partners, and West Millbrook Magnet Middle School. As always, you have responded very faithfully and generously to provide our local students with the necessities they need to further their education. Thank you so much for your provision!
On Sunday, August 23rd, we will have a “Back to School Blessing” at both our 9 am contemporary Crossing worship service and our 11 am traditional worship service. We want to pray for our students and teachers for safety, growth, and academic achievement as they commence another school year. We are excited to see the continued maturation of our young people!
On Sunday, August 30th, we will celebrate “God’s Work, Our Hands” Sunday. As it is a fifth Sunday, we will have ONE worship service at 10 AM, followed by a lunch together, then a variety of service projects to bless members of our greater community. This is always a big annual Sunday for us, and so we encourage you to put it on your calendar and plan to attend.
Our Dave’s Pub Ministry has graciously agreed to cook once again for us for lunch, and we thank them in advance for their service.

Finally, we wish to thank the members of my Mutual Ministry committee for their service at the conclusion of their terms -- and welcome their replacements. The Mutual Ministry committee exists to support and encourage the pastor and his/her vision, ministry, and health. The two members that are completing their (three year) terms are Anne Mehr and Joel Kepley. They have served faithfully and been a blessing to me! Anne has chaired the committee for the past couple of years. We will welcome our newest members, Patty Herman and Karen Alexander. The other members are Corbett Lawrence, Jason Woods, Sherry Sension, and Dianne Rimmer. Please join me in thanking them for their ministry.
