Camp Agapé Day Camp: A Week Around God's Table
Last week, we were blessed to partner with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to host Camp Agapé Day Camp! Throughout the week, children gathered from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with a special half-day celebration on Friday, for a week filled with faith, friendship, and fun.
As part of this partnership, St. Philip was grateful to have one of our own children participate in camp, to help provide financial support for the program, and to assist in hosting the Camp Agapé counselors during the week. It was a wonderful opportunity to share in this ministry together and invest in the faith formation of young people in our community.
Led by the amazing trained counselors from Camp Agapé, campers explored this year's theme, "At God's Table," through games, crafts, nature activities, skits, songs, snacks, and so much more. Each day focused on a different reminder of God's love with a word of the day that the children would respond to:
Provides - For us
Invites - Everyone
Remember - God is with us
Forgives - Our sins
Unites - As one
One of the highlights of the week was learning and memorizing our theme verse:
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." — John 6:35
We are deeply thankful for our partnership with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the dedicated Camp Agapé staff and counselors, our volunteers, and all the families who made this week so special. It was a joy to watch children grow in faith, build new friendships, and discover that there is always a place for them at God's table. We look forward to partnering together again in the future!
