God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday: Worship, Fellowship & Service (Aug. 30)

What happens when we put our faith into action?

On Sunday, August 30, we’ll gather as the St. Philip community for God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday—a special Fellowship Sunday centered around worship, good food, fellowship, and opportunities to serve our neighbors.

We'll begin with one worship service at 10:00 a.m., followed by a congregational potluck lunch and several hands-on service opportunities.

This is a chance for all of us—children, youth, adults, families, and friends—to find a way to share our time and talents with others.

Our Day Together

  • 10:00 a.m. – Worship
We'll gather as one congregation for worship and prepare ourselves to live out God's call to serve.

  • 11:30 a.m. – Congregational Potluck Lunch
Bring a dish to share and enjoy some time around the table with your St. Philip family.

  • 12:15 p.m. – Service Opportunities
After lunch, we'll roll up our sleeves and get to work! Choose one of several projects and spend some time putting faith into action.

Pack Blessing Bags
Help us pack 100 Blessing Bags for people in our community who are asking for assistance. These simple bags are a tangible way to offer care and kindness to our neighbors.

Card Ministry
Join the Card Ministry Team in creating cards for people celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, life events, and more. A handwritten card can be a small gesture that makes a big difference.

Make Baptismal Blankets
Help create fleece-tie blankets that will be given to people at their baptisms. We'll make the blankets together and spend time praying over them, connecting this hands-on project with the promises and blessings of baptism.

College Care Packages
Help pack care packages for our St. Philip college students as they begin another school year. It's a fun way to remind our students that their church family is thinking about them even when they're away from home.

Help with Set-Up & Clean-Up
Not every service project requires a craft table! We also need people willing to help with set-up and clean-up for lunch. There are plenty of ways to lend a hand.

Launch of our Food Drive
We’ll launch our Food Drive Collection to benefit North Raleigh Ministries Food Pantry! Get your list of the food we’re collecting!

God's Work. Our Hands.

God's work happens through ordinary people who are willing to show up, lend a hand, share what they have, and care for their neighbors.

That's what God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday is all about.

Come worship with us. Stay for lunch. Then find a way to serve.

Whether you spend the afternoon packing Blessing Bags, making cards, creating baptismal blankets, preparing college care packages, or helping behind the scenes, there is a place for you.

We can't wait to worship, eat, serve, and share God's love together!
