What a Weekend! BYG-er Retreat 2025

What an amazing weekend our 6th–8th graders had at the BYG-er Retreat at Camp Agape!

We joined youth from Good Shepherd Lutheran (Raleigh) and St. John’s Lutheran (Salisbury) for a weekend packed with fun, faith, and friendship. From ga-ga ball and archery to crafts, hiking, low-ropes-course challenges and campfire songs, every moment was filled with laughter and connection.

In between all the games and good times, our group dove into Bible studies, shared in worship, and had meaningful conversations about what it means to be the Church together. Camp Agape’s amazing counselors helped everyone feel welcome and encouraged us to grow deeper in faith—and in community.

By Sunday, we came home a little tired, but our hearts were full. It’s weekends like this that remind us that church isn’t just a building—it’s the people, the shared experiences, and the ways we see God working in and through each other.

A huge shoutout to our youth for bringing such great energy and to everyone who helped make the retreat possible!

Building Youth Group (BYG) retreats at Agape’ really are the best—because they build more than memories. They build faith, friendship, and community.
